Sports and Entertainment
It seems to me that many of my students are greatly interested in some aspect of the entertainment or sports industries. Any time I reference a game, movie, or song in class, students jump at it.
 
I was wondering if there was a way that we could possibly incorporate these two incredibly influential industries into 1101. Perhaps in terms of audience, as certain sports writing is geared towards fans of specific teams or interests, or even as specific film reviews tend to cater towards a particular demographic (i.e. the difference between reviews of Harry Potter films in Rolling Stone, NY Times, and Nickelodeon Magazine). Just an idea...
